Job Summary

The National Sales Manager will lead the overall sales strategy, team management and revenue growth for Dr. Smith products nationwide. This role is pivotal in expanding our market presence in the HoReCa sector, retail partnerships and e-commerce channels. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with proven experience in FMCG/food distribution, passionate about building high-performing teams and forging long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and implement a national sales plan to achieve revenue targets, focusing on HoReCa clients, retailers, distributors and key accounts. Identify new market opportunities PAN India.
  • Recruit, train and manage a regional sales team, setting performance KPIs and conducting regular coaching to ensure consistent execution of sales goals.
  • Build and nurture relationships with major HoReCa chains, supermarkets and distributors. Negotiate contracts, pricing and promotional deals to maximize product penetration.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities (e.g., in canned goods and seasonings) and sales metrics. Provide monthly/quarterly reports on pipeline, forecasts and ROI on marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with our 3PL and warehousing teams to optimize supply chain efficiency, ensuring timely delivery and stock availability across states.
  • Control sales expenses, including travel, incentives and promotional budgets, while driving cost-effective growth.
  • Work closely with marketing, product development and operations to launch new products and align on branding strategies.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Good experience in sales leadership within FMCG, food and beverage or consumer goods industry
  • Proven track record in HoReCa or retail sales preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office; data-driven decision-making is preferable.
  • Ability to travel extensively (50-60%) across India.
  • Results-oriented, adaptable, with a passion for food innovation and customer-centric solutions.
